One of the most important parts of app design is its design concept. That is why software prototyping tools exist: to help you visualize just how your app is going to look like when you finish. Only a few features of the app are actually emulated and it mostly serves as a foundation to build around.
Mockplus is an example of a software prototyping tool that serves to simplify the entire process of prototyping with built-in components and icons to allocate. You can try it for free for seven days after which you have to purchase a yearly subscription. The price is set according to the number of licenses, a single license for a single user being $199/year or $399 for a perpetual license.
Its most distinctive characteristic is its simple and elegant UI where you can drag-and-drop virtually anything. You can find many different buttons and controls to add to your app. It's multi-platform and you get to choose for which platform you want to design. There are some simple triggers and commands you can implement that can simulate the app's most simple characteristics, such as opening a different window after pressing a button.
You can preview the app inside Mockplus or you can export it as an HTML document. It supports multi-user development making it great for larger teams of developers and designers. If you are worried you are not experienced enough, you should know that you can create your design without a single line of code! Unfortunately, there is no Linux version at the moment.
